Manufactured in the UK, the Pearl is a 25cm deep 2ft 6 small single mattress with an extra firm support and is upholstered in a resilient and durable hand tufted damask cover. The hand tufting process is achieved by passing tapes through the mattress at regular intervals and securing them on both side sides. This pre-tensions the mattress and offers a firmer feel. The foundation of the Pearl mattress is its 12.5 gauge open coil spring system, one of the firmest wires used in mattress manufacturing and is extremely hard-wearing. Open coil interiors are made up of rows of hourglass shaped coiled springs, connected at the top and bottom by a spiral wire, known as a helical wire. The mattress border is strengthened by a thick, rod-edge wire that adds support to the perimeter of the mattress. This allows you sleep right up to the edge without the sensation of rolling off.
