The Pearl mattress is well upholstered in a hard wearing and attractive Belgian damask cover and features a hand tufted finish for durability. The hand tufting process ensures its deep layers of fillings are held firmly in place by passing tapes through the mattress and securing them on both sides with a cotton tuft. The interior of the mattress is made up of a robust 12.5 gauge open coil spring system, one of the firmest springs used in mattress manufacturing. Its a robust system that is made up of rows of hourglass shaped springs connected at the top and bottom by a spiral wire, known as a helical wire.. The border of the mattress is strengthened by a thick, rod-edge wire that adds support to the perimeter of the mattress. This lets you sleep right up to the edge without the sensation of rolling off.
